Make Money Blogging - Is It Even Possible?

Some of the people who make money blogging would like you to believe they just got lucky… stumbled upon the solution. By presenting themselves as "just a regular Joe", it is easier for them to sell high priced courses for their "secret formula" to make big bucks.

Maybe these people were lucky! But it was more than luck that contributed to their success. Without dropping names (yes I know, I'm a spoiler), the best bloggers I've observed have a lot in common. They are mostly “type A” personalities who are educated, motivated and able to learn from their mistakes.

They also have the right mindset when it comes to money. Most of them learned early on that in order to make money you had to be prepared to spend a little. These bloggers invested in their knowledge and the tools they needed to grow their blogs.

Will most people find it too hard to make money blogging?

No way! It's just that you can't expect miracles! Blogging is a side business where the effort you put in equals how much money you can make. It's just that in order to be successful you have to blog the right way.

What do I mean by the right way? Keeping your blog focused on your chosen niche, realizing that it will take time and effort to build your blog, promote your blog effectively, and make sure it has a way to make money.

But blogging for fun isn't going to make any money - unless you're a celebrity, no one cares what you did last weekend or what your cat's name is!

Can You Really Make Money Blogging?

It is important to be realistic. In many ways, the money you can make blogging will depend on your skills. Forget the headlines “I Made $ 103,000 Last Month”. The newest bloggers can earn between 500 and 1000 USD per month if they take a cost-effective approach.

It means making an effort. Find a niche where you can write with authority (something you know or are passionate about). Promote your blog through social media and set up a way to convert traffic into income. (The majority of bloggers use advertisements, BUT ads need a lot of traffic to make money, not the best choice on day 1).

I'm not here to talk you out of blogging. It's a great way to earn extra money from home or drive traffic to an existing business. I just wanna be clear that the money headline requires a lot of work...
