You can recognize the name of 'Lord' from my previous one Blog and Instagram posts.

Indeed, my husband Oli is one of the stylists of Lord Hair Salon in Winchester, Lord Home's sister brand. It was thanks to Lord Salon that I got to know Jamie and Tom, the co-founders of the salon, and now our dear friends.

As the entrepreneurial duo that they are, shortly after being introduced to Jamie and Tom, I came to learn more about a new business they had up their sleeves: Lord Home.

Lord Home is an organic soy candle brand, offering a succinct collection of luxury scents inspired by nature.

As a candle lover myself and passionate about everything clean beauty, my interest in hearing about Lord Home was piqued!

Luckily Jamie and Tom were looking for a helping hand with their social media when they launched and asked me to add my two cents. I said a "yes!" Very fast. and soon after, we created moodboards, “branded bibles” and shoots for Lord Home.

Working with Lord Home candles is this hygge lover's dream come true, and I hope you will love knowing the brand in today's post!

Although I am a little biased like their stylist and friend, I really love their products and I think so do you!

Where did the concept of Lord Home come from?

Lord Home was born from both curiosity and intention.

I love candles, scents and scents galore! I wanted to be able to fill homes with scents that are like “nature”, but with the strength of scent and luxury candles, which only artificial candles had historically.

Burning candles containing tallow wax or potentially harmful ingredients was not an option. We wanted to focus on a clean alternative.

Herbal candles are, in my opinion, the way to go, so I was curious to see if the luxury item I had in mind could be created this way!

I was also curious to see if it was possible to incorporate aromatherapy into high-end products.

Fortunately, it is possible!

What inspires you and the scents you create?

I am a lover of the outdoors, of being among trees, fields and flowers. Often times I pick up the scent of something in nature and want to play with it for Lord Home.

Perfumes are designed to remind us of beautiful and happy things; to evoke memories and bring those memories inside our homes.

Sandalwood reminds me of my stay in Bali, its golden temples, statues and incense offerings.

Oak Moss is like closing your coat and going for a fall walk; except you don't have to rain and ruin your hair!

Each of our candles has aromatherapy benefits that also help uplift you.

They are more than a pretty face!

You recently launched a new fragrance, Palo Santo | Patchouli, can you tell us a little more about it?

And why now is the perfect time to host Palo Santo | Patchouli in your home?

Palo Santo is a little-known tree of the same family genus as sandalwood and frankincense. It comes from South America, and resin and wood have been used in sacred ceremonies for hundreds of years.

I used to burn Palo Santo sticks in my yoga classes and wanted to change that to something more luxurious and durable.

Palo Santo | Patchouli is definitely a fall and winter scent and lends itself very well to a cozy feeling.

Containing notes of wood and hay, embers and patchouli; I am so proud of the depth of the fragrance! The spray of perfume is fantastic and will fill an entire house in two hours.

It is burning as we speak and I will continue to operate almost every night until spring.

Fall / Winter is all about candles, how can people take care of their candles?

Let's be honest, luxury candles don't come cheap, but some people buy them, light them, and literally hope for the best.

You need to take care of a candle, first to be safe, but also to get the most out of it.

Lord Home candles are designed to burn without leaving any product on the walls of the glass votive. Our wicks are cotton and lead free, which is also much safer for your lungs.

Here are 3 ways to ensure a clean, even burn:

  • Move the spark plug away from any drafty area, if possible, but if it is in an area with current, turn it frequently.
  • make sure nothing is hanging in the candle and there is plenty of space above it if it is on a shelf or the like (for safety, but also to avoid black marks)
  • cut the wick about 0.5 cm to avoid the `` overgrowth '' of the wick

What are the advantages of buying a “clean” candle?

It goes way beyond clean white walls and good lung health!

All of our candles are made here; in Hartlebury, England. They are hand cast by a family business that has been in business for over 30 years. Having a 'clean conscience' is as important to us as our 'clean products', and it makes us really happy to know that we are helping our UK economy: providing jobs for passionate and skilled people!

Besides our exotic plants, crops for our perfumes are also cultivated here.

Last year 65% of all crops used in our candles were grown in England on organic farms. I can't tell you how much I love it!

Cleanse the lungs, cleanse the scent and cleanse the consciousness.

What other items do you think are a fall essential?

Do the piles of pumpkins and squash I decorate at home count ?! I channel New England!

Conkers, tassels and lanterns look great alongside our candles to make pretty seasonal displays. I got a little crazy with it both here and in our living room in Winchester.

Our Palo Santo | The Patchouli candle will create the atmosphere of an open fire in the house. Great if, like me, you don't have a real fire.

Decor aside, I would say fall isn't complete without stepping into the changing colors of nature; the leaves must crack under the feet!

Hot chocolates with hazelnuts are a must, dinners with red wine and roasted parsnips!

What's next for Lord Home?

The most important thing for Lord Home right now is to focus on the scents that we have, to refine the scents and maybe branch out into room sprays or flameless diffusers in the future.

We are looking for dealers all over the country and do our best to work with as many local, independent and passionate stores and sellers as possible.

Forgive the pun, but a slow burn works well for us and gives people time to try the different scents we have to offer. We want to build a relationship with every customer.

There's a whole world out there and it's best with a burning candle!

It is such a joy for me to share small independent brands with you!

You can browse Lord Home's full range of candles online, and currently you can take 10% off sitewide using the code SLOWBURN.

Have a great Hygge season!

What is your opinion?

Are you also a candle fanatic? If so, which scents do you usually prefer?
