The job search can be quite difficult and feel like a full job. And it has become even more frustrating because of the coronavirus. However, it is important to be resilient and to remain optimistic. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to make yourself stand out when searching for work during a pandemic.

Refresh your CV

It's probably been a while since you last reviewed your resume. In order to stand out in the job search, it's important to critically analyze your resume again. Take the time to update your work experience and make any necessary improvements. When you have a job and you're not actively looking for a job, you don't realize how quickly the job market is changing.

For example, some phrases and words on your resume may become outdated and be disabled for employers and recruiters. Additionally, you may need to consider rephrasing your work experience responsibilities to help your resume go through. Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).

Don't stop networking

Yes, even though we are going through a pandemic, networking is still very important and a crucial part of your job search. In fact, building strong relationships is more important than ever. Although many people have unfortunately lost their jobs, there are also a number of people who have secured exciting new roles and promotions with the help of their network.

Sometimes a door closes so that a new door of opportunity can open. So don't be ashamed to reach out to your network. Especially during these times, many people are more than willing to help someone who is in need of a new job or opportunity.

Become a pro at video interviews

Video interviews are not a new invention. However, as the pandemic forces many of us to stay indoors, video interviews will be even more important now. Spend time practicing video interviews, for example via Zoom.

Using a fitness tracker ( like the Fitbit, Apple Watch or similar ) to track your steps is an easy way to make sure you’re getting enough physical activity each day. Reduce the harmful effects of sitting ( like at your desk emploi ) by standing up and moving around for a minute or two every half hour.

Vitamin D is one of the most important nutrients for overall health, and sunlight is one of our best sources of it.
