Now, you hardly have any excuses if you haven't seen Girls Trip yet. I mean, the movie has been out for almost two weeks now and has already been rated as a hit, # 1 comedy of the year, smashing sensation and all those other terms that movie critics use in their reviews. . Usually I don't listen to reviews, but I have to agree with them this time around as they hit the nail on the head with this one. I saw Girls Trip the opening weekend and I'm still screaming on the stages. Funny AF is an understatement. Have you ever seen a film so beautiful and real, as if you were living it? You don't want to end because you feel so invested in the script and the characters. This is[" _trackevent="" trip="" target="_blank" rel="external nofollow">Girls Trip!! Im itching for a part two because this CANNOT be the end. I want, NO, I need more. Needless to say I’ve seen it more than once but the whole experience  got me thinking about my own girl trips- both past and future excursions.  There have been several and with another one on the horizon, I figured what better time to share my do’s and don’t’s for the perfect girls trip with your posse.

I love a good girls trip !! As far as I'm concerned, it's the only way to travel. This movie was a great reminder of that and the importance of taking time out with your daughters. I am not one of those solo travelers. I tried, it's not my thing. I love being able to have new experiences with my daughters and the lifelong memories they create. From my trips to NOLA, Las Vegas, Paris and the intermediate destinations, here are my top do's and don'ts to make the most of your getaway with the team for your next girls' trip.

Be smart about who you Trip with. #Issavibe and you want to make sure Trip with your daughters that will match this atmosphere. You will be spending a lot of time together in close proximity, so make sure it's someone you not only love, but who is the company you enjoy very much as well.

Be the Nagging Nancy, Crabby Gabi, complaining about Cathy about the trip. No one wants to deal with this friend. Chill out girlfriend, you are on vacation. Let go and just go with the flow

Be open to new experiences. Immerse yourself in the culture. There's something about a getaway that gives me a very YOLO kind of spirit, making me play for everything.

Judge your daughters on the journey. It's called a getaway, an escape from your everyday life which means you can do whatever you want. It is impossible to say what you are ready to do in a place where no one knows your name. Mom the word. Applying everything that happens in Vegas remains in the Vegas rule for each destination

Coordinate outfits with your girls for epic photos! I considered one of my daughters to be the Tina Knowles of the group. She makes sure we are all color coordinated and "themed" for certain locations / destinations. I am not angry though. I LIVE for a good photo opp. They create amazing images to frame and keep as keepsakes that will make the perfect memento of your girls trip.

As you can see, I've had some pretty amazing girl trips filled with matching memories. Take my advice on your next girls' trip and you are sure to create your own amazing adventure. In the meantime, be sure to round up the girls and head to the theater to check out the Girl travel movie.

Using a fitness tracker ( like the Fitbit, Apple Watch or similar ) to track your steps is an easy way to make sure you’re getting enough physical activity each day. We aim for 10, 000 steps daily, which has significant physical and mental health benefits. The Fitbit will also remind you to get 250 steps each hour ( another important measure of health

Conventional household cleaning products are full of harmful chemical ingredients that are not good for our health ( or the health of our kids or pets ! ). Switching to healthier alternatives is a simple way to reduce your exposure to environmental toxins in your home. Similar to cleaning products, conventional skincare and personal care products are formulated with toxic ingredients we should not regularly let absorb into our body’s largest organ. Reduce the toxic burden on your body by switching to non-toxic personal care and beauty products ( see our specific recommendations on deodorant, sunscreen, and green beauty products ).

Maintaining a healthy gut has significant impacts on digestion, skin health, immunity, esprit health and more. Taking a daily probiotic with a glass of water each morning is one of the simplest things you can do to boost your gut health ( which, in turn, boosts overall health in many ways too ). Aim to eat real food that’s made of whole food ingredients you would have in your own kitchen pantry, or that your grandmother would recognize. ( Yup, this rules out most packaged food, sorry ! ) This is a little different than suggesting you eat only “health foods” ( many of which are increasingly processed ! ). “Real food” includes unprocessed foods like an apple, a cucumber, soybeans or a steak, as well as foods loosely processed from one ( or few ) real-food ingredients, like butter, olive oil, yogurt, tofu, etc. In other words, aim for foods that could be reasonably made in your own kitchen and avoid foods that can only be made in a lab.

Reduce the harmful effects of sitting ( like at your desk job ) by standing up and moving around for a minute or two every half hour.

Vitamin D is one of the most important nutrients for overall health, and sunlight is one of our best sources of it. Aim to get at least 30 minutes of sunlight each day—preferably in the afternoon, and without sunscreen ( read more about that here ). Not much sunlight in the winter where you real ? It might be worth supplementing with a vitamin D supplement and/or other food sources of this essential nutrient.

Houseplants help to cleanse your indoor air ( sadly, it probably needs it ! ), they’re pretty, and research even shows they improve mood, creativity and problem solving !

Aim to sweat in some way each day—whether that’s running, biking, dancing, hot yoga, or any other physical activity you enjoy.
