Anthony Yarde will meet Lyndon Arthur in a highly anticipated postponed showdown in London on December 5, live on BT Sport.
Yarde (20-1, 19 KOs) and Arthur (17-0, 12 KOs) were scheduled to meet on April 11, and then July 11, before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, both overcoming Dec Spelman in the interim behind closed doors and the pair will now go head to head for Arthur's Commonwealth Light Heavyweight title.
Arthur has come the distance with Spelman in a one-sided victory in July, while Yarde stopped the former England champion in six innings in September, but 'King' Arthur, who first defended his crown after defeating Emmanuel Anim to claim the belt last October, admits he relishes the prospect of taking on his rival.
“What a great struggle it is to be involved,” Arthur said.
“Being behind closed doors means there would have already been a few downcast looks at press conferences, but that doesn't take away when we're fighting.
“A lot of boxing fans are stuck, they all have an opinion and they will all listen to BT Sport. I'm glad to know.
“I could have stopped Spelman if I had increased the pressure. I was in first gear and I wasn't even blowing.
A former world title challenger, Yarde had a valiant run for the WBO crown against Sergey Kovalev last August, before being stopped in the 11th round.
The Londoner returned with a two-round demolition on Diego Jair Ramirez in February before overtaking Spelman and the 29-year-old promised another destructive display.
“I hope and believe this will end what has been a difficult year for everyone,” Yarde explained.
“The best national fights like this are what boxing fans tell us they want and I'm happy to be a part of what will be a special night in London - a special place for a special fight.
“For my part, I will bring entertainment for the viewers, spectacular action and a devastating finish. I want to make it a memorable fight that will be remembered for a long time.
“I'm totally focused just on this fight and I treat it as seriously as I would for a world title.
"I take every fight seriously and right now I'm just working on getting the job done the best way."
Arthur, who has 12 saves out of his 17 wins, insists he's not concerned about his rival's dreaded knockout streak and thinks 'The Beast from the East' should be wary of his power.
"Yarde has the power, but to undo it I'm going to make sure I'm not there to get hit." Anyone can hit hard if you stand in front of them, ”insisted the 29-year-old.

PunchingThere are four main punches in boxing : Jab — a sudden punch. Cross — a straight punch. Hook — a short side punch. Uppercut — a short swinging upward punch.
The Jab ( Left Jab ) This is the simplest but most-used punch in boxing, and likely to be the first punch any beginner would learn. The jab can be used both for attack or defense, and is useful to keep the opponent at bay to set up bigger blows. Hold your left hand up high with your elbow in close to your body. Aim for the opponent’s chin with the back knuckles. Rotate the arm so that the punch lands with the thumb making a small clockwise turn inwards. The CrossA ‘straight right’This is the most powerful and damaging punch, but it may leave the boxer open to a counterattack if it fails to connect. It is best used in a combination of punches, usually after the opponent’s defense has opened up after being hit with a good left jab. Drive off the back foot and pivot the hips and shoulders into the punch for maximum power. Straighten the right arm so that it is at full stretch on effet. Keep the left hand in a guarding position to avoid a counter.
A ‘straight left’This is a good way of keeping an opponent on the back foot. From the basic stance simply straighten your left arm and twist your hips and shoulders into the punch. The first will automatically twist so the knuckles are up and the palm downwards just before effet. If there is room, slide the left foot forward for the blow, but quickly bring up the right foot to maintain balance.
HookThe hook comes from the side so can catch the opponent unaware as it initially comes from out of their vision. The hook requires the boxer to arch and turn their body into a punch. It can be made with either the left or right arm. A right hookBring the chin down to the inside of the left shoulder to protect it. Pivot the toes, hips and hand in the direction of the punch. Turn your hand over so that at the point of effet, the palm faces down.
UppercutThe uppercut can be a great knockout punch and is delivered at close quarters. It comes up from underneath, has an element of surprise, and is usually aimed at the jaw with either hand. One drawback is that if it doesn’t take the opponent out, there is a big chance they will be able to deliver a counterattack. to make a right uppercut, transfer the weight onto the right foot and twist the shoulders and hips to the left, bringing the right first directly up into the target.
