I remember the first time I came across the William Morris Gallery. I couldn't believe it existed here in Walthamstow just steps from my front door. The stunning Grade II listed Georgian house was built in the 1740s and was the family home of William Morris from 1848 to 1856. It is the only public gallery dedicated to William Morris and not only houses magnificent exhibits and a tea room (get the brownie) but it's also the most fabulous shop, which, if you're somehow a Morris fan, will make you cry with pleasure.

I was delighted that I was asked to run my own edition of their Christmas gift shop - it was an absolute honor. I took my time and chose some of my favorite pieces - all of which you can now find here. There is also a very special 20% discount on all items in my edit - just use the code POPPY20.

The gallery underwent a major redevelopment in 2011-2012. The project was led by the Waltham Forest Council, which owns and manages the Gallery, and was supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Friends of the William Morris Gallery and many other charities, sponsors and individual donors.

The historic home has been completely and beautifully renovated, which included the addition of a new tea room (I repeat, grab the brownie), a special exhibition gallery, and a collectors store.

I have a little help with my Christmas wrapping this year… Izzy is rather seduced by the Christmas decoration of the suffragettes. She thinks her name is Mary Poppins. I can see the resemblance!
