Seven-year-old Anton ("almost seven and a half") recently got a makeover with the help of Brooklinen. Here's a preview, if you'd like to see…

Anton's bedroom makeover

In the past four years, Anton has hardly ever slept in his room. He snuggled up in Toby's room, or he tried to crash into Alex and me. Eventually he admitted he was afraid of birds on its old wallpaper. It reminded me that even though he acts like a twenty-something, he's still so small.

So we wanted something that would really look like him. Anton chose the color of the walls peach, which surprised me, because it is not a typical color for small children. But he wanted a cozy atmosphere: “I like it, it's nice, it's very warm,” he explained.

The most important thing was to make sure that his bed was soft and welcoming. Like all the beds in our house, we turned to Brooklinen. “My bed is VERY comfortable,” he says. "I like it like that." Anton has the classic cotton sheets, which are always fresh and crisp.

When it came to choosing art, Anton was happy to weigh in. The buffalo print hung in our old room so he was happy to inherit it. Anton is obsessed with music, and its Beatles print reflects that. “It reminds me of good music,” he told me.

Nowadays, when we're at home all the time, our beds have become more important than ever. Good bedding is always a pick-me-up, especially with the change of seasons. Right now Alex and I have Brooklinen indigo linen duvet on our bed, which is the softest landing spot at the end of the day. Brooklinen has it all crisp cotton at linen at sateen at cashmere, depending on what you prefer. If you're looking for a change (or a great holiday gift for the whole family) I can't recommend them highly enough.

Overall Anton is very happy with how everything turned out. "Every time I come to my room, I feel welcome in my room."
