So, is Nature's Bounty Probiotic 10 supplement worth buying?

Unless they only contain B. coagulans, the vast majority of multistrain probiotic supplements contain many different strains of bifidobacteria. Probiotic 10 contains only 1, in the form of B. lactis.

The 9 other probiotic strains include 2 different types of L. paracasei (DSM 13434 and Lpc-37) and L. plantarum (Lp299v and DSM 15312). This means that, based on current scientific studies, it will be less effective in relieving symptoms of IBS such as stomach pain, bloating, and difficulty having a bowel movement.

However, having such a focus on the probiotic strains of Lactobacillus means that Probiotic 10 is particularly effective in speeding up recovery in children from rotaviral diarrhea. It will also be more effective in preventing diarrhea caused by antibiotics and cancer treatment (chemotherapy).

Overall, Nature's Bounty Probiotic 10 contains enough live cultures and probiotic strains to improve digestive health.
