As I scroll through my Instagram feed, I see some beautiful shiny images.

Images of gorgeous women and their boyfriends traveling to exotic places. Wear clothes I wish I had.

Images of moms who seem more organic than me. More "together" than me.

Images of houses freshly cleaned and decorated perfectly.

Images of entrepreneurs who have their side jostled.

I follow these people because these are areas of life that interest me.

They are meant to be inspirational images.

If so, why do I feel anxious, guilty, even isolated when I look at them?

Why do I want to avoid Instagram completely?

Because I have come to believe that “having it all” does not exist.

At least not having it all, in every area of ​​your life, in every season of your life.

Over the past few decades, women have slowly and subconsciously been led to believe that we should ...

be extremely fit with a perfect daily routine, wear the latest in fashion clothes, always get hair and makeup done, a thriving social and sex life, a sexy boyfriend or husband, the perfect 2-3 kids while you are perfect mom, a booming career or side business, and a clean house with homemade organic meals.

Just reading this makes me anxious. And exhausted.

What if we can't do it all and have it all?

What if these images we see of women that we “assume” have are all wrong?

What if they give up sleep, peace of mind, or financial health?

What if we had to choose, in this season of life, our three main axes while letting go of the rest?

This is the key.

Pick the three main areas of your life that are currently more important than the others.

You can't let the rest of the shit finish, otherwise it will be more difficult to pick up the pieces later.

However, you can say, "you know what, good enough it's good enough now."

My three main areas of intervention are:

  • Family
  • Home
  • Self-care

They simply deserve the most of my time, love and energy every day.

And they are broken down into several components.

The family includes these subcategories:

  • Control my children, which includes everything, to dress them, feed them, play.
  • Quality time with my husband (usually set aside one to two in the evening after the kids are in bed).
  • Do all the chores and errands to keep my family safe and healthy.
  • Talk with my parents and my sister.
