If Theo Walcott can be used properly, he will be as good as Lionel Messi - the crazy guy who had 6 beers and talks about garbage
I hope all is well in the Arsenal sphere this year - the checklist below should give us a good idea.
Sell Alexis in the summer because it is inevitable that he will leave - check
Why would anyone want to stay at Arsenal anyway - a mediocre side in the middle of the table that can't seem to fix the situation despite the gaping fouls at all neutral points.
Not training the ideal lineup so the defense can be as terrible as it was 5 seasons ago - check
Chelsea last season used 3-4-3 and conceded 33 goals. This season, we have already conceded 28 and we have played 22 games. Even Burnley, who is 7th, left 19.
Trust Walcott to one day become a star - like Drogba - check
Maybe Walcott is having a hard time because of the position he's playing. In the newly adopted 3-4-3, a formation that deploys full-backs as wingers to help the Walcott offense will never fit in. Why? Because he can't defend himself.
So what do we do with him? May in the middle? - but Lacazette will not be happy and given that the Frenchman is miles ahead of Walcott, why would we make such a stupid decision?
Maybe Wenger is sadistic that way.
I just want to repost something I wrote on January 5, 2012 - 6 years ago (after the QPR match)
I don't know what to do with Theo Walcott because to be neutral I don't think he fits in with Arsenal. Yes, it's more of a criticism directed at the Englishman, but this time he deserves it. He was atrocious that day, and I wonder why Wenger allows Theo to continue like this. If you think about it, Walcott is a regular starter at Arsenal, and having a player like him as a starter shows you how exhausted the club's ambitions are. Walcott is quick, but what's the point if he can't use his brain on a soccer field. Against QPR, he was 1 on 1 with the keeper only to send his toothless scuff shot to the right of the post AFTER eyeing the goal. Chamberlain will give him a good competition but let's face it, the boy won't be replacing Theo this season. What Wenger will ensure. He likes to prepare the player before putting him on the pitch. Theo was probably an experience that went very badly. Not only is he inconsistent, but also lackluster when it comes to certain situations on the pitch. Surprisingly, he is “good” at the same situations game after game and even then he fails to capitalize. When he does, we feel he's going to get better but let's face it, we've been feeling it for quite some time now.
