See! A young John Barrymore and his third wife, Drew's grandmother, Dolores. He looks dashing (albeit a little dyspeptic) and you could wear his whole wedding wardrobe today and absolutely no one would mind. They met when they starred in a movie together and, by his Wiki, "[h]We said later, “I fell in love with her instantly. This time, I knew I was right, ”and the couple started an affair. Costello's father was angered by the relationship, but his complaints were ignored by Costello and his mother: Costello's parents separated and divorced as a result. First of all, moreover, he was not right. Second: can you imagine your parents getting divorced because of your romance? DRAMA!

Speaking of drama, Barrymore's Wiki is NON-STOP DRAMATHON and as someone who didn't really know much about him for some reason, even just skimming was an experiment. He really has ... everything. Here are a few sentences that jumped into a superficial scoll, and which are not even half of it:

c) After being discreetly caught in the murder of Stanford White (!!!!!!!!), “Barrymore was fired from his newspaper post after producing poor newspaper illustration while having a hangover. He spent time as a poster designer, but found that it wasn't lucrative enough for his lifestyle. Okay, this bit is relatable.

d) "He also attempted to enlist in the United States Army after the country entered World War I, but Army medics discovered he had varicose veins." Who among, etc.

e) “He said later, 'The right side of my face looks like a fried egg.'” Really, we've all been there.

f) "Although Errol Flynn's memoir states that director Raoul Walsh 'borrowed' Barrymore's body before the funeral to leave his corpse propped up in a chair for a drunk Flynn to find on his return home. house, Gene Fowler, a close friend of Barrymore's, stayed with the body all night and denies the story. !!!!!!!!! Is this the Weekend at Bernie's origin story ?! Calm down, Memoirs of Errol Flynn.

It doesn't even fit into the four weddings and the time he starred in a Broadway play and just improvised the whole thing, including greeting his friends in the audience. (Which at the time was considered unprofessional but also extremely fun for everyone.) Obviously I need a good bio, stat. Please send one, Drew!

As for Dolores, she left him once he started cheating on her (he was not a man of great marital fidelity) (he left the mistress and returned to Dolores then the mistress chased him to Los Angeles and used the tabloid press to ask him to come back to her! And finally he did it ?! Phew!) (This marriage didn't last either), and then it all happened to him:

In 1939 she married Dr. John Vruwink, an obstetrician who was her doctor during her pregnancies, but they divorced in 1950. Costello spent the remaining years of her life in semi-isolation, running a farm of lawyers. His film career was largely ruined by the destructive effects of the makeup of the first films, which ravaged his complexion too severely to cover it up…. In the 1970s, his house was flooded by a flash flood.

You lost me to 'married my OBGYN' and referred me to 'I'm gonna throw it all away for an avocado farm'. A lot has happened to these people!

She was a flattering dish, however - and it certainly worked this right side of the fried egg:

Get over your nature, personality, shyness, ignorance, ego or whatever and initiate. When you initiate, you show you’re bulletproof of rejection, which shows your confidence. When you want to practice your social skills, act before you can think. Say something within 5 seconds. Even if the conversation becomes a big failure, practice your courage and your spirit of action. Become an initiator and approach people. You never know where your future friends are hiding.

Many people spend an entire day without smiling. While I’m not asking you to put a fake smile all the time, you must find reasons to smile every day. You will only find reasons when you look for them. And meeting a person is a good one. A smile gives a good figure, and it is likely to pass to the other person.

It’s common advice to show interest in people’s life, passions, goals, and everything else they have to say. But nobody tells you how to become genuinely interested in the other person. There are three secrets to it : Treat people like celebrities. Find what you can learn from them. Everyone has knowledge, experiences, and perspectives you don’t have. Find how you can help them.

When you meet people for the first time, you know nothing about them. So, it ends up being an awkward introduction or a small talk on a random topic. You can do better than that. Notice the words or actions of the other person and make assumptions about other people’s interests. Then, give clues when it’s your turn to talk. If the other person gives a response, you got it right. If however, the person shows no response, try the next technique on the list.

No, I’m not talking about questions like — “How are you doing ? ”, “How’s your day going ? ” or “The weather is too cold ( or hot ), isn’t it ? ”Instead, ask strange questions. They give other people an opportunity to open up. Strange questions can be funny, weird, creative, specific or different in any other way. Just make sure you ask open-ended questions ( don’t ask yes or no questions ).

Every time you open your mouth, it’s an opportunity for you to find common interests or values. Without common ground, it’s hard to build a strong relationship with the other person.

When you answer, give hints on what you value, what you like, what assumptions you have made, where you want the conversation to go, or open new possibilities by asking questions. If you don’t find common ground, go back to the 4th point and get interested in them.

Ask for people’s advice on something you’re struggling with or an opinion on a subject ( but avoid controversial topics ). And if you truly like someone’s advice, take it, use it and let them know how it went for you. Don’t forget to thank them. When they speak, figure out their beliefs, values and the way they think. They may even share their stories or give clues about their interests. This gives them a chance to open up which brings me to the next point.

If you open up too much in the beginning, you may push people away. And if you don’t open up at all, you won’t build a strong connection with the other person. Some people don’t mind opening up while others like to trust before they open up. If the other person is too shy to open up, take the lead and give some intimate details about you or share a story. Before opening up any further, let the other person talk. Give them space to share themselves. When you both become vulnerable, the foundation of a new relationship is laid.

People won’t open up in front of you unless they feel comfortable. to make them feel comfortable, get comfortable yourself and give them reasons to trust you. First, relax and get in an open body language. Then, provide trust by providing value and aligning your words with actions
