Once you've tried this rip and share Christmas tree bread, no other bread will do. It seems like the tree-shaped pizza is the only one that matters.

This simple garlic dough ball recipe is the ultimate Christmas crowd pleaser and only takes 40 minutes to prepare, so you can be back to playing Charades in no time.

Each bite is like a little bundle of Christmas jubilation to your mouth, stuffed with creamy mozzarella and brushed with melted butter, garlic, basil and parsley frosting and sprinkled with tangy hazelnut Parmesan.

Let the butter run down your chin and let the parsley get stuck between your teeth for days - this is the premier vacation appetizer you need in your life.

  1. Preheat the oven to 230 ° C. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut your mozzarella into 1-inch pieces and set aside.
  3. Finely chop your parsley and basil and set aside.
  4. Crush your garlic and set aside.
  5. On a floured surface, divide your pizza dough into two pieces.
  6. Stretch and roll each piece of dough into a long rectangle, then cut the dough into 2-inch squares. You will need to determine how many pieces you will need to craft your tree, we have chosen 33.
  7. Wrap a square of dough around each piece of mozzarella, forming a tightly closed ball.
  8. Place the balls, seam side down, on the Christmas tree shaped baking sheet, making sure they are touching.
  9. Beat your egg and brush the dough balls with the dough.
  10. Melt your butter in a small bowl and add your finely chopped herbs and crushed garlic, brush the dough balls with it.
  11. Grate your Parmesan and sprinkle it on your balls of dough.
  12. Bake until golden, 15 to 20 minutes.
  13. Serve straight from the top with a hot passata for dipping!
