TIPS OF THE DAY
Ross Barkley is stuck at Chelsea at least until the January transfer window opens.
It is highly doubtful that Thomas Tuchel will be useful to him, given the competition that already exists in the attacking midfielder area of the pitch.
Throughout the summer he was weakly linked with Newcastle United and West Ham United, while a last minute loan to Burnley was also in sight at one point.
However, that has been ruled out, in part due to his high salary demands, and it means the 27-year-old will remain in West London, at least until New Years.
He still has two years left existing OK.
All of this represents a considerable disgrace for the player who was hailed as a child prodigy on his first breakthrough with Everton, and less than two years ago was a regular at England sides. But a loan spell with Aston Villa last season that started off brilliantly but then faded as injuries and loss of form combined, did little to convince others clubs he was worth trying his luck at, and it looks like his career will wither on the vine.
