Ah, stubborn belly fat. We all feel like we have it, and we all have a really time getting rid of it.
Even though the idea of looking in the mirror and seeing six-pack abs is nice, a more noble reason to get rid of that excess tummy weight is the negative health effects that come with it.
Belly fat is often indicative of Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, insulin resistance, and even some genres of cancer ( Time ). The kind of fat that causes us to see a stomach pooch is typically the kind that surrounds our organs – this kind of visceral fat is dangerous to our health !
The problem is that belly fat is notoriously to lose; though it’s not .
A poor diet – one full of sugar and processed food – will slow down your metabolism and make it nearly to shave off that sticky stomach weight. Refined céréales and sugars increase inflammation, and belly fat is directly associated with inflammation.
Alcohol is another offender as it’s often full of extra kcal. Your body also has to focus on burning alcohol before it can burn anything else in your body – like fat – which makes it to lose weight when you’re a heavy drinker.
Getting older is, unfortunately, another common reason you can’t kick off the belly fat. Your metabolism slows down, and for women, menopause encourages weight gain.
Finally, burns fat, and if you don’t have much by way of groupes de muscles, you won’t get the extra boost you need to target abdominal fat ( Prevention ). A great place to start is with our recommended ab-targeting exercises.

This series of movements is considered 1 repetition. Did you know 10 burpees in a row are just as effective at speeding up your metabolism as a 30-second sprint ? ! That’s motivation enough to get over yourself and do the burpee. ? ? ? ?
The mountain climber is a calorie-burning workout that really gets your heart rate going. It also targets your core, making it the perfect exercise to lose that stubborn belly fat and reveal your abs.

Targeting your abs is all about developing core stability, and that’s exactly what pike planks ( also sometimes called plank pikes ) do.
Pike planks also have you starting in a pushup place. Once you’re on the floor, arch your back to lift your behind up to the ceiling. Then, contract your ab muscles and lower back into a pushup place.
This ab scorching exercise helps tone your ab muscles while also encouraging spine stability.
The basic plank has always been a go-to exercise to strengthen your core, but adding a few modifications to it can make it even more effective.
The plank hop requires you to start in a high plank excellente position très with your feet close together. Pull your abs in and jump your feet to the right while bringing your knees towards your right elbow. Your torso should twist to the right. Then, jump back into the starting etat. Working in the hospitality industry comes with its share of challenges and problems.
Plus, working in a hotel, inn, motel, etc. has a lot of unique issues that you really can’t find anywhere else. However, as different as this particular industry may be, other companies can still learn valuable lessons.
This article will cover some of the most important hospitality-related points that entrepreneurs can use when running their own business.
Keep in mind that the list can apply to any business, from retail to construction. In addition, this article will only contain the most basic lessons.
7 business lessons from the hospitality industry
Once you have learned these seven lessons, we strongly encourage all of our readers to further explore the hospitality industry and try to apply as many good business tactics as possible.
Lesson # 1: Hire the right people
It sounds simple enough, but that’s anything but – if you want your business to be successful, hire the best suited people for it. And indeed, it not only looks simple but downright redundant. Of course, you’re going to hire the best professionals to do the job, right?
Well, it’s a little more complicated than that. You can hire a professional who has the right academic background or the right work history, but ask yourself the following question:
- Are they really passionate about what they do?
- Are they considering honestly giving their 100% just because they enjoy doing their job?
For more on how to properly assess a candidate’s suitability for a job, let’s go back to 2014. Customer service expert Micah Solomon wrote an article on his own approach to hiring the best people for the job. hospitality industry, and he called it the WETCO approach. , an acronym that stands for the following:
- Heat (simple and old-fashioned kindness to customers)
- Empathy(feel what the other person is feeling, both positive and negative)
- Team work (self-explanatory)
- Consciousness(ability to follow up on an order or a promise to customers)
- Optimism (ability to throw off bad experiences and bounce back fresh)
Each of these stitches works wonders in the industry, but you can easily apply it anywhere else. You might think of WETCO as an extension of soft skills such as leadership, adaptability, and communication.
Lesson 2: Safety first
A facility simply cannot function if it is not secure. Appropriate hotel security procedures are essential, even with establishments rated 2 stars and below. After all, you want your guests to feel safe. They stay overnight in your hotel, so if they lose their valuables or get injured in the process, your business will suffer in more than one way.
Some of the top rated hotels invest millions of dollars in cutting edge security systems. In addition, they ensure that each guest feels comfortable and safe in their room. And while many other companies don’t have such a security risk, it’s still a good idea to keep an eye on things.
Lesson 3: Think both globally and locally
You may have heard of the term Glocalization. Yes, it does sound a bit too corporate and contrived indeed, but it is a staple of hundreds of thousands of businesses.
For example, you need to create a cosmopolitan atmosphere with your room selection, dining choices, and even amenities if you own a hotel. Your guest from Canada will not feel at home to the same extent as your guest from Cambodia or Cameroon.
So, to attract more external customers, globalize your brand a bit by following the latest trends.
However, never forget your local customers or local customs under any circumstances.
A small local economy is what will keep your business going on a daily basis. So always bring that local touch, even with your more globalized choices.
Lesson 4: Communication is the key
Can you imagine how to run a hotel with poor communication between the staff and also with the management?
Good communication can make or break a business. In fact, an entrepreneur can grow and multiply their brand simply by having above average communication skills.
Business owners should ensure that they maintain the following communication that there is adequate information flowing through different channels between:
- management and employees
- management and consumers
- employees and employees
- employees and consumers
Lesson 5: Remain observant
Two hotels could both offer a massage parlor and spa. However, real flowers and potted plants will attract more guests than plastic flowers. It’s a small detail, but it can definitely affect your success.
Entrepreneurs who pay attention to the little things know that the extra effort can pay off. Sometimes it doesn’t even have to be a material thing.
A small gesture like remembering the customer’s name (or nickname) will show them how invested you are in providing excellent service. And indeed, it’s the little things customers remember the most that play out perfectly in our next section.
Lesson 6: User Reviews
Never be afraid to read user reviews, both online and in print. A negative review can hurt, but it will provide valuable insight into upgrading your service.
Additionally, you can respond positively to the negative review and thank the person for letting you know what to change. This tactic is incredibly effective because it shows the unhappy customer that you are ready to take their advice and change. Hotel owners do this all the time, and some of the best owners have very few negative reviews to read.
Lesson 7: Innovate
A typical hotel will offer the expected services, such as food, accommodation, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, room service, etc.
However, hotel owners tend to provide their guests with innovative new services to stay ahead of the game. This is why hotels have started to accommodate spas, gymnasiums, restaurants, etc. In addition, many of these establishments have agreements with other businesses in the city.
Guests can find out in advance if there is an event like a concert or movie screening, and the hotel itself can provide transportation there.
Obviously, other companies will not have the same types of innovation. Still, if you think about it, you can come up with something creative and new that no other similar establishment will offer.
Most people think that the hospitality industry has not changed over the past few centuries. However, nothing can be further from the truth.
Like any other business, the hotel industry is constantly innovating. And the more successful it is, the more other companies can learn from it and improve their own situation in the global market.
